What's Yours?

Take the Pledge!

As of today we have saved
822,848
bottles from going to land fills!

Pledge allegiance to the tap!
By drinking tap water instead of bottled water you can make big difference in a short period of time. The seemingly small decision to drink tap water rather than bottled can have a beneficial impact on the environment as well as your wallet.

Taking the pledge will help the environment.
Every year, nearly 17 million barrels of oil are used to make the plastic water bottles used in the U.S., in addition to the significant amount of fuel used to transport water to consumers. Plastic bottles are also a growing source of litter and garbage. Americans throw away 38 billion plastic bottles a year – over $1 billion worth of plastic – which could take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade in our landfills.

Taking the pledge will help your wallet.
Depending on the brand, bottled water costs 250 to 10,000 times more than what tap water costs. Tap water costs only about a penny or pennies per gallon, so if you drink your recommended eight glasses of water a day from the tap, that cost would be about $3.65 (based on a glass of water being 8 ounces) cents a year, while purchasing the same amount in bottled water could add up to $1,400 annually. Ounce-for-ounce, bottled water can cost more than gasoline or even milk.

Take the pledge today. It's easy, and a little effort will go a long way. We'll be tracking our progress all year, so don't forget to encourage your friends to pledge allegiance to the tap. Check back often to see how your involvement has helped make a difference.  You may only take the pledge once. We thank you for your commitment to drinking tap water instead of bottled water!

On average, I drink    16 ounce bottles per week.

I agree to take the pledge for 1 year
